WINTERHURST FIGURE SKATING CLUB

PRESENTS:

DÉJÀ VU

May 11 &12 2007

This letter is an update on the practice schedule, costumes and other important information concerning Déjà Vu.  Déjà Vu will be presented at the Winterhurst Ice Rink on May 11 and 12, 2007.  Both shows start at 7pm.  Participation is required in both shows.

Costumes

Costumes have been ordered and will be arriving shortly.  In addition to the costumes, skaters will need over-the-boot tights which we hope to offer at significant savings.  All costumes and tights need to be paid in full at the time of pick-up.  If you are in more that one number, you will owe an additional fee for that costume.  Costume pick up is set for May 7th starting at 4:00PM.

Attendance

Attendance at ice show practices is mandatory.  Learn-to-Skate and Advanced Learn to Skate skaters should anticipate practice times above and beyond your normal skating times.   Our attendance policy for practice sessions is that a skater can only miss one practice and after that, it will be up to the discretion of the choreographer whether or not they can continue in the number.  Please understand that when we rent the ice and engage the choreographer (who is volunteering their time for this show), that we need to make the most out of each practice session.   In order to produce a high quality ice show, practice is essential.  Any skater dismissed from a number due to attendance will not receive a refund and is still liable for the costume fee.

Dress Rehearsal / Pictures

Dress rehearsal is scheduled for May 9th starting at 4:00PM. This will also be picture day.  The schedule for pictures will be posted at a later date.  Attendance at dress rehearsal is mandatory.  Any skater unable to attend dress rehearsal will not be able to skate in the show.

Video

A firm has been contracted to produce a professional video of the ice show.  The video can be purchased in DVD or VHS format and order forms will be available prior to the show.  The cost of the video will be between $25 & $30.00.

Program Ads

Skaters and their parents will be encouraged to sell ads for the Déjà Vu program book.  The program book will include candid photos of each number, a list of participating skaters and the show order.   For every $25 in ads sold, a skater will receive a free ice coupon good for one hour of club ice.  For every $50 in ad sales, skaters will be entered in a drawing for two grand prizes of $100 shopping certificates.  For example, if a skater sells a $100 ad, they will receive four ice coupons and 2 chances for the shopping certificates.

Program advertisement letter will be available shortly following the meeting.

Practice Schedules

Practice schedules are included with this.  Your group is listed on the front of this informational packet.   All Learn-To-Skate/Advanced Learn-To-Skate numbers will be practiced on Saturday mornings.  Please look on the web site: www.winterhurstfsc.com for the times of the practices if you forget or lose this packet.  There will always be information regarding the show on the wall at the rink, where there will also be a master schedule of all the practice times listed by the title of the number you are skating in.

Group Contact Person

In an effort to keep everyone informed and up to date on show information, additional practices or any other important information, I am looking for a contact person in each group to act as a liaison between the show committee and the members of the group that your child is in. If you are interested, please see me after the meeting, or call me if you were not present at the meeting.
